Turbo Oil Drain Line - Tap Block or Oil Pan Spacer?

Hello,

I currently have my turbonetics kit draining into a pre-tapped oil pan spacer.

I am burning a good amount of oil, yet my compression is still great.. Could this be a reason? Is it better to have it tapped into the block, or should it make no difference?

Thanks

I have heard all kinds of story's on this. I had run the spacer with drain line and I never had any issues. I changed because I got an APS oil pan.

Yeah I'm blowing out lots of smoke, that's the problem. I look like I drive the bat mobile when I drive it hard, not cool at all. I'm 6mt.

Sounds like the seal on your turbo is bad, Turbonetics is notorious for that. Either rebuild the turbo or upgrade to a different one (non-Turbonetics).

That's exactly what I thought it would have been initially, but if that were the case, when I took off my intercooler piping from the turbo, there should have been oil in the tubes right? But there wasn't... So doesn't that mean my seals are ok?

How would I go about diagnosing this? I'm starting to think its my turbo seals, and not my rings... I get the bluish smoke most when I'm shifting gears or when i let off the gas during boost.. Acceleration doesn't seem to have much smoke at all.. Any ideas?
