My G is acting silly!!!!!!!!!!!!

O.K. I drove to work today, no problems. (first time this has ever happened) I get in my G to go home at the end of my shift and when I start it up, it hesitates on start up and then idles high once started. My CEL light comes on allong with my Slip and VDC off light. I get on the highway, hoping I make it home. The car will not drive over 60 MPH. I do make it home and when I park the car, I try to rev it up but it will not rev over 2k RPM. It feels like something is restricting the car. Has anyone had this issue before?

That happen to my friends Camery. Something wrong w/ the engine. What happen to his was the check engine came on then over heated and then broke down. You might not want to drive your car at this point. unless you get it to the dealers. If you want i can try to find out what happen to his. I am sure all symptoms are the same just different cars.

I had no choice but to try to drive it home from work last night. The temperature is fine. It just boggs down when I attempt to accelerate past 60 MPH.

It's in limp mode. Search around...there are a lot of threads on this.

Did you pull the SES code? It's usually something like the MAF when the car goes into limp mode and you experience high idle. Your throttle body may have gone out by chance, too...not as likely, but it has happened before.

My guess is that you need to replace a camshaft position sensor or 2... but you need to get the computer codes pulled. AutoZone will do it for free, and let you know what the code means.

Must be your locale. They still do it here. They know me well enough at my AutoZone that they actually just give me the reader any time I have any issues.

Got the codes. They were p0103 and p0101. Both indicate MAF sensor issue. I cleaned it and no improvement. I don't know if I need a new one or what.

Well hell... Before you spend the cash replacing your MAF, reset your ECU. You might get luck, it may clear up your issue for the free.

Lol, unplug the battery for more than 24 hours.

Correct me if i'm wrong. Also I do this when I reset my car, let it idle for 10-15 minutes. Don't give it any throttle what so ever.

It doesn't take 24 hours. Just unhook the + terminal over night.

There is a manual way to do it as well. Google "g35 ECU reset" and read up on it.

Is it the positive or the negative terminal? And is the disconnect more effective than the pedal method? I have another car I can drive, so I can afford to wait things out. I prefer to use the most effective method.
