Cleaned + Oiled Air Filter, Now TROUBLE!
Cleaned + Oiled Air Filter, Now TROUBLE!
Might be a total rookie question.
I just cleaned and oiled my Stillen Air filter. I let it dry after cleaning but did not let it dry very long after oiling it from aerosol can. Replaced it and went for a drive. Acceleration stopped at high RPMs and the engine revved up and down in a crazy fashion. The tach stayed at an even level but the engine went up and down like crazy.
Should I have waited for the oil to dry or could I have gotten the sensor wet?
Worked like a dream prior to this. Didn't touch the throttle body or anything but the filter.
Thanks

The sensor could have picked up moisture, definitely should let it dry before re-installing!! Can you breathe better through a wet towel or dry??? Get it....your ride is having trouble breathing!! EEEAAASSYYY on the oil...doesnt need to be soaked, matter of fact i only spray one side and change sides when i clean it....
Ya figured as much. Should I clean the sensor seeing as how it's probably got a bit of oil must on it? No engine or sensor lights are on the dash so probably all good. Anyway to reduce to the vacuum whistling? Seems I have a lot of it.
