Clutch Point after JWT Flywheel / ACT Clutch Change
Clutch Point after JWT Flywheel / ACT Clutch Change
Hello,
I have an 05 G35 sedan and recently changed the stock flywheel / clutch to a JWT flywheel / ACT clutch. I have been driving it around very easily for about 5,000 miles. I also changed the clutch master and slave cylinder with a new throwout bearing, pilot bushing, and new pivot ball. I like the overall feel and the package transfers power to the wheels very smoothly without slipping.
The problem I am having is that the clutch engagement point is very low. I adjusted the rod in the master cylinder to increase the engagement point. It helped a little. However, the clutch pedal refuses to spring back to its intended position if I get the engagement point to a preferred position. It stops halfway in between.
I also noticed that there is about an 1-1.5" of free play in the clutch pedal before I actually feel the pressure on the pedal. I do not know if this is normal or if the hole that holds the clutch pedal and the clutch master cylinder rod is worn. The pin that holds the two looks new but there is some play with the clutch pedal. Is this normal?
I would like to hear your opinions. When I first installed the package, I had the clutch engagement point setup higher than it is currently. However, at some point the engagement got lower and lower and I cannot get it back up. Let me know what you all think the problem is. Thank you.
