You don't need to guess HotRod, you're correct I've never read the service manual because nothing has ever gone wrong with SLICK that I couldn't fix myself or PM one of our members to get the needed answers....Gary

Diagnosing engine - especially electrical/computer problems - can be very frustrating and time consuming. However if 5 months passes by and the first mechanic never actually fixed it, how can they charge you?

I'd tell them you respect their hard work and will use them again in the future for other work, but want your money back for this one.
