Knock sensor and harness replacement

Good ol' searching of the forums seems to show that this job is not for the faint of heart. Easy, just time consuming and a lot of bolts. What I don't see is a DIY write-up unless I'm missing it. So, for those of you that have done the job, what exactly am I in for? I hear separating the harness from the main harness is a complete PITA.

Step-by-steps?

Pix?

Potential "gotcha" areas?

Any help would be great.

G35 Sedan
Once the upper and lower plenum is off it's pretty straight forward from there...those connectors aren't too tough, take your time and be very organized

Thanks... I may hit you up in a week or two if you still have it. Got pulled over last night for rear tag light out (warning, no ticket thankfully). Went to pull the light housing and the entire bracket fell into about 1000 rusty pieces in my hand. So, that's first to avoid a ticket, and then onto the knock sensor. I swear the "G" stands for "Gremilins" in these cars.

Hehe... My local dealer wanted $86.99. Just ordered hood hinges from Circle Infiniti in NJ, decided to give them a call.... $44.99. It's an A-Frame hunk of metal for Christ's sake. Neither Infiniti or Nissan could cross-reference the part (thinking it may be cheaper going through Nissan if it was on a Z). Reluctantly, I bought it.

86.99 wow.... no wonder you guys hate dealerships....
that's why I didn't offer one from me, because shipping would have made it more than it's worth

Yes, but from reading other posts... you're on my "short list" for parts.
