Gas mileage! What the ****!!
Do the math; mods are never going to pay for themselves in gas. Say you get a CAI and exhaust. Even if you get eBay knockoff junk that's $400. If it gives you another 2mpg (very generous), and you go through 1 tank a week, how long do you think it would take for payback? If gas is $4 a gallon, it's still over a year. If the mpg increase is a more realistic 1mpg, it's 2.5 years. That's just for payback, not savings. If you buy nicer parts and get headers, you may be looking at north of 5 years.
If you have trouble paying for gas, you can't afford mods. Just keep your car maintained and drive like an old lady. That will give you the biggest savings.

Also those mods make me wanna floor it every time. Thus killing any increase u get. I took the "drive like a granny" approach and get made fun of but im at $50 a week on 93 and happy with that!

Anyway... to the original post... you'll never recoup money spent on mods vs fuel savings. The G isn't "horrible" on gas, I'm getting about 18-20 mpg, (depending upon driving habits, weight of my foot, highway vs city) which is pretty average for a 6. If I'm on a long trip, all highway, closer to 25-26.
Also, don't get mad at others positing opinions on a topic that has been discussed ad naseum in the last 5 years. Before starting a thread, do some reading on the other topics that are EXACTLY like this one.
I need more gas mileage. I had a piece of **** 1990 honda civic before, but it got about 30 to the gallon! Is there any performance mods that would work with my gas mileage a little too?
I heard a math injection would help, as well as a cold air intake, headers and exhaust.
Is any of that true? Any help would be appreciated!

yes please inject some math into your engine I would like to see that

have somebody advance your timing initial 2 degrees, and pull out 2 degrees from the top end...I have had this done and power and mileage went up. now getting 27.4 turnpike @ 71mph. cruising slower at 65 I have seen 27.6, there are people here doing even better than that maybe they will chine in.
Haven't done a single thing to mine yet except for synthetic oil in the engine and considering what the vehicle is I can't complain of the fuel consumption...just took it up north and back again, filled up and calculated the use. combined city and hwy was 29.7( imperial MPG)...had cruise set at 105kmh. Had to crank it up a few times to pass on the road...noticed the fuel computer was doing about 33 US MPG before I hit the towns...can't complain. I've still got fluids to change to Amsoil in the diff and trans...then add some Forte' oil additives for extra friction fighting.
Also guys jack up the car and see how much drag your brakes are doing, most people neglect to clean and lube sliding parts and pins. Rule of thumb for thes are silicone dielectric compound for rubber to metal contact and high temp anti-seize or brake grease on metal to metal contact.sould be able to slide calipers with a finger when they are done right.
No efficiency with these cars when you tramp the gas down all the time...mapped way different than my old Maxima was, that thing got same mileage driven easy or hard...

I was getting 22 in the city and 28 @ 80 on the interstate before I started modding, seems like I get better in the city now, but haven't tested. Tuning seemed to have a good effect on mileage. Lowering your idle RPM can also save gas in the city, but unless you have the revup oil pump, I prob wouldn't do it.
The only thing i can think of is to free up HP and they are lighter in weight. I have the light weigh pulley now and i am working on the Carbon Fiber Driveshaft. Your engine wont work as hard to move those part and could be better on your gas.
