If you replace your heater hose

The other day I was replacing most of my houses with Z1 silicone, since they were 7 years old and frayed. If you replace your heater hoses (that run behind the firewall into the cabin), I would recommend buying a new air relief valve. It's about 20 bucks at my local Nissan dealership. Everything looked good and it looked sound, so I installed it between the new hoses.

Well, I put in my new coolant with a Lisle spill free (recommend it) and while I was burping the system that valve busted in half. I had coolant shoot all over my engine and I was in front of the car as well and got coolant all in my face, eyes, and mouth. Luckily, it was only warm and not scalding, but I'm sure my neighbors liked the show when they saw me freaking out in the driveway.

Thanks for the tip. Do you happen to know the part number of the air relief valve?

Thanks.

Thanks.
It's "92500U-Connector Heater Hose" I think it's kind of a generic part number though, so you want the one either for a 350Z or G35.

Well it connects two hoses together, so yes it was still on. I closed it though after I filled up the system and coolant started coming out. I left the funnel to allow any air bubbles to escape from there instead.
