Weird Thing Happened

So I was driving my G home from school. Now my G is an auto and it was in manual mode while having the VDC off. I was stop at a stop light and when I try pressing the gas pedal, all of a sudden, the check engine light came on as well as the SLIP light. But my car wasn't moving, it was just a little bit no matter how much i press on it. I switch it back to regular driving mode and that didn't help. I pulled over and restarted my car and it ran again but the check engine light stayed on. Can anyone help me out on this? And also why does my RPM rev high but I feel no torque or pull? Like I will be at 30 MPH and the rev would be hitting 5RPM near 6 and I feel nothing. Is it because my gears are slipping?

You need to give us more information to help diagnose your issue. Whenever the SES light comes on the first thing you need to do is get the code read to pinpoint the issue. Post up your code/s and then we'll have a better idea of how to help you.

Moving this to the appropriate sub-forum.

I havn't scan it or anything but to be more exact, it was the service engine and the SLIP lights that came on my dash. And like I said the car is an Automatic in manual mode. Kind of odd for it to die on me. When the gas pedal was pressed, there was no throttle response, nothing at all. Car was moving at a turtle rate with the gas pedal all the way down. Even when it was put back in D, it still didn't go until I restarted my car. But now the service engine lights stay on. What other information would you need? I'm a neebie at these stuff so if there's anything missing, please advise me.

Hi. The same thing happened to me about 3 months ago, except mine's a 6mt. I bought a $50 code reader and got the p0340 camshaft position sensor error code. Hopefully you get the same code as it's an easy DIY fix replacing the sensor. But without knowing what code your car is throwing, it can be anything. BTW, my car is a 2003 g35 sedan with 95xxx miles.

You can buy a WIFI obd2 wireless sensor and buy the torque app (20$ Combined) to diagnose codes. I'd recommend that route.

Alright so I used a $1,000 snap on scan tool and it spit out the code P1705 which was throttle sensor i believe. I did a voltage check in my gas pedal connector with a lap scope to monitor the voltage level and it was fine so I come to believe it might be the TCM. So far I'm stuck there.
