100 octane

Anybody ever put 100 octane gas in there G35c, there is a gas station here that sells it but its expensive, 3.69$ a gallon, compared to 1.45$ for 93 octane, kinda pricey but maybe not if its better.

Re: 100 octane

Don't have a G yet, but it's best to use what the manual calls for. Higher octane gas has a higher flash point, which prevents the heat from compression from igniting the gas vapor before the plug fires. You will lose power if you use lower octane than the manual says, and waste your money if you use higher octane.

Re: 100 octane

100-octane fuel is generally used for cars that have over 600 hp or cars that have very high boost turbo or supercharger. So you’d be wasting your money, just stick with premium (93 octane).

Re: 100 octane

It's Gov. Gray Davis that's why. We have more additives in our gas for cleaner air which cost more. Plus gas for me right now in San Diego is $2.20. We pay more cuz we don't want refineries near us. So most of our gas is trucked from LA.

Re: 100 octane

Ya that is reason we pay more Cali is because we have one of the worst air here. So we need more chemicals to clean the air. Sucks for us now but we will have to see about latter. I am paying about 2.08 for prem.

Re: 100 octane

damn, over 2 bucks for gas, and i got pissed when gas went up to 1.60, im in alabama, and 93 octane is everywhere, you can get 87 octane here for 1.25, and premium for 145, theres no way i would pay over 2 for gas, i would walk first.
