Quick word of warning if you do use the vented can - you want to build some kind of shield to keep water out of the filter (assuming it's mounted near the front of the bay). Oil and water don't mix, the same rule applies when they're in a catch can. It's a surefire way to gum up the lines lol

A little home depot or lowes HVAC ducting light gauge sheet metal trimmed and wrapped around the front edge works fine.
