How to get a Sub 5 Second N/A 0-60
Haha oh, well I get 24mpg avg, but, I'm trying to make my car STi fast, so thats kinda where I wanna focus this thread.

A full bolt-on G35 with tune will not be enough to take an STI off the line. Expect to gut the interior, have a 3.7 FD or taller, good tires, excellent driving and its still not guaranteed. I've lined up with plenty of STI's/EVO's both when N/A and boosted. Even with 490whp and a set of drag radials I still can't beat most of them from a dig but I'm capable of passing them shortly after. Sounds like you should look into nitrous.

Our engines are not maxed out from the factory, that myth has been disproven, they are tuned to achieve maximum mpg while running rich to keep internal temps cooler. I know it makes no sense, but thats why you see a 20 hp gain from just an Osiris tune on a stock car. One of the biggest problems with the car is the awful intake/plenum design, sure the spacer helps but theres so much more potential to be found with a better intake configuration. I would love an LSX type plenum and intake on the G. More and more members are seeing numbers over 300 whp on a dyno jet running bolt ons, the VQ has a lot of potential on N/A. Problem is the money you spend to do that, a Vortech kit is only a bit more and gives you better numbers. It's a price point issue, $ invested/Hp.

And BTW, 20 hp with a $800 tune does not impress me. You could put $800 of bolt on stuff to a small block Chevy and DOUBLE the HP.
This motor is tuned for maximum HP AND reliability in it's NA form.

Sorry, this has been proven (in a post here "Dynoing the miths out of Intakes" or something like that.) time and time again, that intakes don't do **** on NA cars. You might gain 3-5 hp with one, most of the time (without a tune) you LOSE hp! Yes, my MREV2 and spacer made a real difference in the "butt dyno", but it was not more than 10-14 HP at most.

Its not, but our cars will only do so much na. Im with you about FI I like being all motor and the look on peoples face cause they dont expect our cars to be that quick. I started out running 14 flat and im down to 13.3 clicking 24mpg

Still doesnt make that much sense; Especially with slicks. Porsches and Vettes will beat an STi w/out awd and they don't have 500hp. I see STis and EVOs get beat all the time at my local 1/8 mile by cars that definitely don't have 500hp and aren't awd;
I know there are (like I said in the beginning of this thread) many factors, but that just doesn't seem right. 500whp is an insane number. You put slicks on that you should be able to rape most of the competition even with minimal weight relief.

My brother had a 1971 Trailduster Plymouth with a two bbl 318 V8. In Low Lock 4WD, there was NOBODY that could pull it from a dig, but it would only run 55-60mph topped out in low.
