Options for Oil Consumption fix for those that out of warranty
Oh...hmm..may even wanna go with a 10w30. I used to use 20w50 conventional and burned like virtually nothing. I wouldnt suggest that tho. Mpg goes way down.
400hp LS2 easily gets around 25-28mpg. Depends on how you regulate the skinny pedal. Plus fuel consumption is better than oil consumption.
Just go ahead n do 10 30
It's true. Haha the idea being that the extra power means you don't have to push the "skinny pedal" in as far. This is how Corvettes get 30mpg. Well besides their extremely light weight. But I think they cruise 70mph at 1800rpms or something like that. Not sure what their final gearing is tho.
Wow I had no idea those V8s can get such good mpg. I had a 4 cylinder Tacoma b4 the G and it got better mpg and now I'm seein this! So 2 cylinders down and 2 cylinders up both get better mpg. What is wrong with the G I just don't get it?
Well there are a lot more factors that will affect mpg than just engine size. The reason the G gets bad mpg is cuz its a luxury sport coupe. Most people they advertised to didn't care about mpg as much as performance, so they made the final drive fairly aggressive, and the luxury amenities make the car pretty heavy. But to make it perform like a decent V8 for their target market they had to sacrifice mpg.
Infiniti put this in their catalogue. The extra mass this car carries deflects outside noise well and the 3.3+ VLSD definitely doesn't get great gas mileage. I think my accord has a 2.1 and it sits at 1900 at highway speeds (getting 30 mpg) and it is light.
