LS Swap Trans Help

LS Swap Trans Help
I am ordering my LS swap kit tomorrow from Fueled racing. I am swapping a fully built 5.3 w/ 75mm borgwarner turbo. I know that most people who have done this swap have used the T56 trans, however, I am auto and want to stay that way. I know the 4L60e will fit w/out any modification to the tunnel, but the 4L60e will not support my hp goals. The 4L80e on the other hand will support my hp goals. The Fueled Racing Rep. told me the tunnel needs modification to fit the 4L80e But he didn't know exactly what needed to be done. Has anyone here used the 4L80e or know someone that has?

I am not familiar with that setup either. I had a big hand from the guys at Baily's Hyperformance in Saginaw, TX though. I went with the T56. They have done almost a dozen of these swaps now and I know they are working on there first automatic setup right now. I would give them a call in the morning and talk to the owner, Chris. He is extremely knowledgeable about all this. Best of luck man!

Thank you. I appreciate the info, and I'll be calling them in the morning! I'm going to do what it takes to make it happen. It would just be nice to get some info from someone that has already been through it. I'm going to take some measurements tomorrow and take the interior out and see how much room I have to beat the **** out of the tunnel lol.

i cant imagine what kind of power you are looking for?
a built 4L60 can handle a lot.
in addition to the g i have an awd trailblazer ss, they come with the 4L70 its just a mild upgraded 4L60 that barely holds the stock power. i am saving my pennies for a finish line stage 5 trans and a yank 3600 stall. a built 4L60 can handle some big power. alternatively a stock 4L80 might be a cheaper rout to go if it fits your power needs.

The 4L80 is just very large, take a look at how the back half of the 60 tapers down compared to the 80. I don't know if hammering the tunnel is enough but based on looking at this and looking at your car you should be able to figure it out beforehand. (4L60 on left, 4L80 on right)
6L80 with paddles is what's up!
