03 G35 Coupe revs to about 1500-2000 then takes off?

Hey all,

Just wanted to know if this was a common occurrence on G's? Sometimes i'll hit the gas, and it'll rev to about 1500, sometimes 2000 rpm's before it catches and goes.

I've noticed a similar sort of deal in reverse as well. Takes an extra second or so.

Is this normal?

Thanks

I think it kinda depends on how you typically drive it. When I've been driving it soft, it seems to hesitate at lower RPMs when I'm really trying to push it. Like just letting me make sure I want to really go. When I start driving it like I stole it, it's much more responsive. I think I'd need to know more about your situation, but I assume it's just the ECU adjusting to your driving style. I have an 03 Coupe also. Or I could be entirely wrong, but that's what I've always assumed/heard.

Yea it's just strange but it seems to happen to most G35's the more I look into it.

Reverse is the worst. It almost shifts like a manual with high RPMs before it kicks in and goes.
