I changed my air filter...now i have a problem
Hello there, i have abit of an issue guys...a few days ago i changed my air filter on my 2003 G35 from the old dirty oem one to a new clean air filter, but what i've been experiencing as of late since i've changed the air filter is a bit of power loss when i hit the accelaerator the car hesitates and then catches, and also when i put the a/c on the idle lowers and at a stop light and while i'm moving the car feels like its REALLY hesitating and popping when i drive...
can anyone shed some light on what i should do?...i've been reading a bunch of different things that could be the issue, but i figured the g35 driver community can help me
Btw the car is bone stock, no aftermarket parts, its all oem stuff...

i will definitely try this method, i've heard a few things, but i'll definitely try this...but once i do this would i have to do the "relearn" rest thing?.... the turn on and off reset procedure?....
exactly what i was thinking scragglerock lol, someone said it could be the throttle position sensor, someone said it could be the MAF sensor...another said the throttle body (might need to be cleaned or replaced)....so i'm super loss as to where i should go...i just want my car's power and mobility back it was so quick and fast and now i feel its lost all of that which made it a g35 :/

Haha, no worries, man it'll get figured out. If you haven't cleaned your TBs ever tho, I highly suggest doing that.
Did you touch the throttle body at all tho? If not I doubt its the position sensor.

Nope i never touched the throttle body at all, just simply swaped out the old air filter for the new one, which the old one was reallly! dirty, so i'm assuming the new one allows the engine to breathe more and thats causing the engine to act the way it is?...
Nah, that's not what's doing it. Youre overthinking it. Something must have gotten bumped or unplugged or something. If a I were you I'd just redo it and go back over the process. Make sure you check and see that all your hoses are connected, sensors are plugged in and everything is tightened and where its supposed to be. Like I said, never heard of this.

ok i sure will check it later today after work, because yea that got me over-thinking, but thanks i will test those out tonight
It sounds as if you have a possible vacuum leak. Check to see if there are any hoses that are not attached correctly, specifically the one that goes to the intake tube.
Hey there guys...update on my situation with my car, its running terrible now, i cant go past 30-40mph without terrible popping sounds coming from the exhaust and a burning/smoke smell coming from the engine (even tho theres no physical smoke)...one good thing that happened tho, the "service engine soon" light finally came on...so I'm taking it to the mechanic shop in the a.m...will let you know the results later
Why not take it to a Dealer. Infiniti trained, parts, etc. I changed out my filter with none of your issues. At least the Dealer did when they changed my oil and filter. Which I bring in.
