G35C 6MT Performance Plan

What do you think about the idea of leaving the G35C 6MT basically stock for the first couple of years, maybe until the main warranty is up. By then the after market parts are tried and true with an optimum twin turbo and a matched chip. Just the boost that may be needed to keep up with the new cars unless the insurance industry shuts them down…. What do you think, should I wait or just get on with it! What should be in the performance plan....

Well this is how I look at it. I’ve had my G35C for a couple of months and I love how the car looks and drives now. I will probably keep it stock for a couple of years, except for maybe a wheel upgrade or small engine modifications. But maybe in a few years when I get a little bored of my G() I’ll probably go all out and build an 11s or 12s G to get me all happy again.

personally i think it is a waste to wait untill the warranty is up to mod your car. If you are going to mod it, just do it now and enjoy it for longer. The day i get my G i am pulling it into the garage and having my way with her.

Just my $0.02

Re: G35C 6MT Performance Plan

I'm keeping mine stock for a couple of reasons. One, no money to blow on mods right now. Two, I'm getting into Solo2 autocross, and my driving skills are not yet good enough to compete in the "stock" classes, much less venture into "prepared" or "modified" territory....

Re: G35C 6MT Performance Plan

From having just modified an altima and now owning the G35Sedan, I would say leave the suspension alone until you do race some. Someone else said it on here, mods can mask your deficiencies. I would definitely do any exhaust mods as early as possible as you will be able to keep the stock exhaust "pristine" until you are ready to sell it or trade it. i have a set of headers that should be on by the end of the summer along with a custom catback and some magnaflow muff's from my altima. (Some fairly large modification is needed on the headers)
