Just got a turbo installed on my car . My question is when I have the car parked and i rev the car up the turbo does not produce any boost to set the blow off vale the gauge stops at zero when i rev it up. But when when I drive I get boost, my buddy told me to rev my car up so the can he the blow of vale and nothing happened but is that normal i heard the BOV on other cars parked

hmm

I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure that is normal. I believe there has to be back pressure or something for the turbo to build boost while sitting still. Maybe a 2 step or something that changes the fire while reving to build boost to launch your car. Something like that. I'm prob wrong at my choice of words here but its something that of that nature. But yes. It is normal to not build boost while parked and just reving the engine. Hope I helped

When you rev while still, there is not enough time/pressure to get the turbo to "spool up" and start making boost.

Commonly known as "turbo lag".
