you wasted a bunch of time pulling the plugs and cranking for 20 more seconds. just fyi.
I'm not positive that is true, it spun a lot faster with the plugs out and still took a good 25 seconds to build pressure (switch turns off at about 5 psi when I had a coworker test it in his pressure switch lab here). I'll never know if it would have built pressure spinning at the slower speed because of air lock, but it could have happened. I read on a GTR forum to pull the plugs to help priming so I tried it out. It seems like you would be okay with starting up the engine before confirming you have oil pressure, that isn't something I would be comfortable with in my situation. Unless you're saying I should have just kept cranking then yeah, I just didn't like the noises it was making from the compression.
