My Motordyne 1/2" Spacer Power Gains

I want to try to make life a little easier because my stats were scattered on the other thread. I hope this is a little easier to read and understand.
I hope the mechanically challenged can see that my car clearly made gains with the spacer.

This the first run my car did. My car is near stock, unless you guys really consider a ztube an actual mod. Ztube and stock air box w/OEM paper filter in wet weather nonetheless.

Run number three was my best run of the day. Of course this is with the spacer.

199.67/201.73 vs. 207.20/213.28

That sums up my dyno day.

Clint and Tony have the rest of the plots.
This will be including mine and nuttyprofs.
I'm sure they will follow up when they have time to analyze everything.

Nice numbers! What other mods do you have on your car?

That's my only engine mod. I put my Stillen CAI back in last night, I'll be heading off to work in a few mins. I'm about to see if the cai will compliment the spacer.

I also want to mention that this was done on a mustang dyno. The numbers are from a 5th gear pull.

What am I missing here? The without spacer spreadsheet is not matching the dyno plots.

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...0&page=2&pp=15

According to the dyno plots:

W/O Spacer Run 1 2 3
Max power 210hp/206tq 207hp/203tq 206hp/203tq

W/ Spacer Run 1 2 3
Max power 210hp/203tq 215hp/207tq 214hp/208tq

There definitely seems to be some gains here (7-8hp and 4 tq on average), but it appears the comparison is between the worst dyno run (#4 which isn't even shown on the plot) with out the spacer and the best dyno with the spacer. Not exactly weeding out the bias I would have compared runs #2 with and without the spacer. It seems the most accurate.

I believe that might have been a "throw away" run, my 201 stock run.
Tony and/or Clint have all the data from 2.19.05.
If you'd like, give me your email and Iwill send you the data so you can analyze and come to the same conclusion.

If you're comparing run #2 with vs. without, it's still pretty kick a ss! 8hp!!!

Anyway, I'm at work now. The CAI DEFINITELY robs low end. I will see if one of my friends is willing and kind enough to loan me their drop in filters, but it seems that stock box w/OEM paper filter does my car the best justice so far.

Agreed.

Yep. I don't have direct experience with the G35, but what you're describing is what's been noted by lots of Maxima owners. Stock or slightly modified stock intact tracts seem to work best on the VQs.

If the numbers above are all averaged out this is what you would get for peak numbers...

W/O Spacer: 207hp/204tq
W/ Spacer: 213hp/206tq

So that equates to an average peak gain of 6hp and 2 tq. Not too bad perse but what would be more interesting is too see the area under the curves where both dyno plots are overlaid on top of each other. I'm sure someone is going to do that.

I'm a little more impressed with the entire torque curve rather than the peak numbers. This is only via comparison of the 2 charts above. Looks solid even in the low to mid range.

Right away at the low end there is already a jump of 12 more tq which gradually minimizes down to 8 tq from 2500 rpm to 4800 rpm. That is pretty impressive considering its a sub $200 mod. But like you said thats only based on two charts and it would be nice to see all 6 runs laid out on one graph. Still holding out for more info before I make a decision on Crawford Cast or Spacer.

Dizz,

Your dyno data has been entered into Excel and the dyno plots are looking really good! You werent hallucinating when your butt dyno said your car drove like a bat out of hell. What I see from the comparative plots would definitly results in butt dyno gains. 6-9 HP

Significant HP and TQ increases are across the entire RPM range! Plots will be posted soon.
Tony

After you pay, they send out the spacer and related stuff via FedEx and send you an email with tracking info.

Keep in mind that Motordyne is Hydrazine's venture. He does have a full time job as well. I'm sure ever since the results of 2.19 dyno day have been released, he's been swamped with queries about ordering and the product itself.

If you're concerned about getting ripped off, don't. I know that others along with myself will vouch that Tony is a stand up guy. If you ordered it, you'll get it. It's only a matter of when. And when you do get it, it'll be totally worth the wait.

Yep, from what I've read, Tony sounds like a good guy with a good product. He's mostly likely swamped so give him some time.
