Oil Question
Oil Question
So I took my car to a new mechanic for the first time since getting my G35 coupe. Totally forgot to mention synthetic oil.
Is one oil change on conventional a problem if I've used synthetic for the life of the car, or should I just let it go? Also, it started burning oil about 20,000 miles ago, so I've been adding synthetic every couple weeks to keep it from dipping below 4.5-4.75 quarts. Would I have to pick up conventional 5W-30 to match, or would putting in synthetic to mix be alright? I seem to remember hearing some people using a synthetic blend, but not sure if that's a good idea.

No, not a big deal. If you look on the bottles (I was gonna say "can", I'm too old...) it says "compatible with all conventional oils", so don't worry, next time just change back to Syn oil.
PS, check your oil consumption closely, you might find it drops considerably using conventional oil.
