03 g35 vq37 swap ... Not your typical wanna know info thread
Of corse I'll take you for a spin , if you ever want pop by my shop during the build fellow nissan enthusiast are always welcomed. As far as mounts go it seems like different threads say different things. That 03-04 arnt right and 370 arnt right, I'd have to use z33 hr mounts. Regardless it was only 70 bucks and now I have all three sets so one has to work.
If I have some spare time I'll pop in during the build. What kind of time are you able to put into it? You a 9-5 guy too?
I was a 9-5 guy I took a break from the real world I like to say and started doing work at my shop more full time so right now im at my shop everyday usually after around 4-6 I'll stop working on customer cars and start mine.
Finally some progress! Spent the last few days pulling engine , cleaning prepping vq37 , measuring where everything should sit ect . Installed 07 350. (Hr) rack, 07 350z motor mount brackets and original vq35de mounts. Test fits and she fits like a glove. As of now I'm waiting on my long tube headers, lw flywheel and a few other odds and ends . Next will be drive shaft and have the harness done, I've been saving my pennies and I'm bout halfway saved up the 2400 needed for the harness I'm going that route as its plug and play and eliminates any headaches or worrys and its all immobilized .
Picked up some new cheapie wheels to play on, this car will be drifted all this season, no use running 4K wheels

Can't wait to see some progress. I will do this if you pull it off... These engines are good for way more power than the DE.
Sorry for lack of updates I actually moved to Florida for a little bit then ended up moving back home as I found out picking up and moving isn't quite as easy as it seems , I've gotten quite far actually I'll post some pics up in the next few days I got everything permently mounted trans in shifter in headers on ect ect. Cooling system is done, fueling is done. Then we get to the hard part, the wiring. I figured easiest way to go about this is run the car completely with 370z wires. Every last one, also ended up going with 370z dash and everything surrounding it. 370 hvac, 370 steering colum , 370 full brakes including abs, and just about everything else. All the wiring is basically done I'm at the point now where I am fitting the dash setup. I've had to trim the dash sides for the doors to close as it hung out too much, and I've cut both cars dash supports to make one. Sides where it mounts are g35 rest is 370 so the dash lines up. The only harness I didn't use was the rear of the car which now I'm wishing I did. When I left off I was looking for wire diagrams for the plugs on each car that go to the rear so I can match them up and power all the lights and fuel pump ect. I did save the plugs from the hr mess so once I match them up I'll have an oem 370 plug connecting them.
