05 sedan g35 strange cam position sensor issue

Okay the other day I was driving my car pretty hard.
2 lights from my home and the car starts shaking hard. Like it has a really bad miss. I park it, and Google for 3 hours. Nothing pointed to cam position sensor.

The next day I started it, it still ran rough. Very rich gas smell from exhaust. So I took it to auto zone. Ran the codes. Got bank 1 cam sensor code. Bought the 89$ part. Drove it around - and the vibrations stopped. Completely. I didn't put the part in yet???

I haven't reset the ecu or re learned anything. The new part is still in the box.

Service engine soon light is on still though.

Did my car re time itself to the bad cam sensor? Or is this just a random thing that happens?

It will be intermittent until you replace it.

Yeah I believe you there. It came back this morning, and left again before I got to work. So in 1 drive time - it drove rough and smelly, and then fixed itself.

It seems like it definitely occurs around 5k+ rpm.
I'll fix it asap. Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it.

I just had an issue with my cam sensor on bank 2? (passenger side)
The issue came and went, usually after I drove it pretty hard, it'd start acting up.
Smelled SUPER rich, like... the richest fuel smell ever. And the idle was very bouncy, the card felt like it was bouncing (it wasn't a rough vibration, it was like a heavy swinging/off balance feel).
Replaced the more expensive of the 2 cam sensors... It runs better, no weird idle, and it even sounds better. That bad cam sensor made my car sound like crap.
Oreillys told me the code.

Oh I can also rev higher now, without my car sounding like it's coming apart. Even before the cam sensor issue got bad, my car would sound like a rustang or something... coming apart at the seams.

Now I've got a nice growl from 3k+

I was thinking of making it curve a little towards me, like in the GTPs. To make it more cockpit like.
