Engine - Oil Consumption

Hi Forum Members,
I'm the original owner of 03 G35 Coupe 6MT. I currently have over 250k miles. I've been using Mobil 1 Synthetic (10-30) and noticed a higher increase in oil consumption from years before. Anyone can share other suggestions, I greatly appreciate it.

Still haven't had my mine enough to assess how quickly it goes through a quart. I've had a couple VQ35 Maximas so I'm well aware of the issues. Just want to see where my starting point is.

Yes, you are blessed! Once OC starts only thing you can do is check your oil level frequently adding oil when needed! Buying your Mobil 1 at Costco they sell it by the case, that extra quart should get you between oil changes...Gary

Try switching to a conventional oil in a heaver weight like 10W40. Sometimes this slows OC but won't stop it. Mine has 150K and it uses about a 1/2" quart in 2500 miles now. But it was run hard in the early years.

My first VQ35 Maxima used a quart every 1500-1800 miles. 2nd one was about a quart every 3500 miles. My Accord, on the other hand, Stays on the full line between 7500 mile synthetic oil changes...and I'm at 219,700 miles on it.

Yet I still bought another VQ35 car. Can't seem to stay away.
