2003 G35 Sedan Drivers Seat Will Not Move Forward
I am having trouble with the drivers side seat in my 2003 G35 Sedan. The front to back function stopped working. After removing the front to back motor I determined the motor was bad. The internal fixed magnet around the armature was cracked and the armature would no longer turn. Along with a crack in the plastic head that fits over the gear on the jackshaft.
I purchased a new (used) motor on eBay. Tested the motor before installing it and it works fine. Once installed, the seat moves backward without any problem but only moves forward about one inch in any position.
The two jackshafts in the seat frame move freely. I am able to crank the seat forward and back with a socket on a speedhandle.
The seat also has the memory option. There is an ECM controller under the seat. Might that be restricting the movement somehow?
Any suggestions on what else might be stopping the forward movement?
