Rear Differential Year-to-Year Compatability?
Rear Differential Year-to-Year Compatibility?
Hi all,
I've been searching for this info with little luck, so thought I'd ask. I need info on what year differentials can be used as a replacement in my 2007 G35S 5 AT sedan.
Other than the rear end issue, it"s running great at 190,000 miles. Had a leaking pinion seal replaced about two months back, and it ran great for about six weeks. Then, suddenly one morning, I hear a slight gear noise, and it's progressively gotten worse, so I think I'm gonna be in the market for a new rear end and will probably pick up a low mile used unit if possible. Of course, that means a newer year model to get low miles.
Any help is appreciated!

Any diff (pumpkin) from a g35 will work. Your diff should have 4 bolts connecting it to the driveshaft, some G37 diffs only have 3 bolts. All of the manual G37's had a 4-bolt flange.
The flanges that connect to the driveshaft can be swapped; correct? I'd rather find one from a late model G37 if they are compatible in order to have a better chance of low mileage/wear.
