What shop?

Trained, trusted, transmission rebuilding shop that works on high end vehicles or some untrained a$$hole trying to rip you off.?

What are the training credentials of the person that told you that?

Better get a second opinion

A blown head gasket and a ruined transmission might want you to consider replacing the entire vehicle.

Good luck

This is the 3rd shop i've been to. First 2 shops said the transmission needs to be replaced but didn't fully take the oil pan out because I didn't commit to get anything fixed. This last shop took it out and looked and the owner just called me. The 3rd shop is a highly reputable shop in my area. I've called nissan/infiniti because apparently there was an extended warranty for some 05-10 nissans that had this issue but no luck for infinities.. My dad wants me to take it to 1 more shop that a coworker told him about to look at it before we do something. I'm not sure what I want to do but if this is the problem a used transmission+ new radiator is around $3500.

I would love to trade it in and get the **** away from infiniti to be honest but with all of this **** going wrong with my car it basically has no trade in value.

edit: the shop it's at is a trusted transmission shop.

The AT has cooler lines that run from tranny to radiator. You might be able to replace radiator and then flush out the old fluid. Take the return hose off, run it, and replace the fluid ad it comes out. That's if there is not too much damage. Yes, this is a known issue on the tranny with Nissan's. There are a ton of rebuild vids on YouTube where they mention this.

when the shop owner calls me back tomorrow im going to ask him about that. the only thing is if i didn't catch it early the transmission is probably toast. Im just pissed the car only has 79000 miles and i've taken good care of it, and this crap randomly happens.
