Cleaning Fuel Sensor made problem worsen
Cleaning Fuel Sensor made problem worsen
Prior to cleaning my fuel sensors, I could never fill up more than 3/4 and it would always prematurely read at Empty when I still had over 7-8 gallons left in the tank.
So I decided to try the DIY sensor cleaning procedures on both my sending units while making sure I had less than 8 gallons left (to prevent spillage during cleaning and to see if the needle moves up after the fix).
After cleaning, I turned on the car and the gauge level moved up as hoped. No longer indicated that I'm running "Empty". Then I filled up at the gas station, 13 gallons onto the existing 7-8... everything seemed normal UNTIL I turned on the car and now the gauge is reading at half full.
Is it possible that I may have bent the sensor floater arm while removing the sending unit or it's getting stuck? Those are the only things I can think of at the moment...
