TDC Timing chain help!

Hi, I'm having a huge problem putting my timing chain together after making the fatal mistake of not putting my engine on top dead center. Now the dowel marks aren't lining up correctly and I'm not trying to mess this up. I've seen on other posts that I might need to remove the cams but not really sure if it's needed.

You'd probably have to pull the valve covers off and check where the cams are sitting. The intake and exhaust cams on NO 1 are at 45 degrees facing each other I think.

Did you rotate the engine at all?

Why would you tackle a project like this and not follow the detailed and complete instructions in the FSM?

Well... I sort of did follow the fsm but not for this, I actually had lifter tick, and replaced the lifters but after beginning to assemble it back together I couldn't actually fix this. Additionally, I was going to send it to a mechanic but he wanted $2,000 to fix the problem.

I took off both covers now, actually thinking about sending it to a mechanic so he can fix it.
