2003 g35 sedan never changed trans fluid
I was mislead about when to change the trans fluid.
Cars got 108,000 miles, fluids brownish with a slight tint of red left on paper.
Doesnt smell burnt.
Car shifts smooth, never had bad shifts before.
Was wondering if I should leave it alone at this point, car runs well and the last thing I need is a blown transmission.

thanks gary, I heard the old trans fluid for our cars isnt made anymore Type J maybe? whats the new type and is it fully compatable with the old that it would be mixing with?
also I think Id better buy it myself since sneaky mechanics around here will pour just about anything in to save a dime ( and say they bought the best to charge me more $$$ at the same time), where should I go Infiniti dealership?
about how many quarts should i get for a drain, 4?

On old vehicles equipped with an AT it used to be recommended to not change the fluid past a certain milage due to new detergents breaking off slime and crud inside the tranny and clogging the throttle body.
This is 100% not applicable to any newer vehicle, modern ATF has much better engineered detergents and even with 100k miles (or double) it won't create slime deposits and crusty spots inside the tranny. It will however continue to break down as all hydraulic fluid will so do your car a favor and take it to the dealership for a tranny service.
