Intermittent No Start

Hi Forum Members,
I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced issues when starting your vehicle. I'm the original owner of 03' G35 Coupe and have been having intermittent issues of the car not starting.
How would I test if this is a 'starter' or 'neutral switch' issue? The battery voltage reading appears OK.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Front and rear cameras, tire pressure for all four tires can display on screen, folding side view mir
Just because you are getting a normal battery voltage reading does not mean that you may have a dead or weak cell.

Test the cells with a battery hydrometer.

Any cells not holding a full charge, replace the battery.

Also test the alternator output voltage across the battery with the engine running

If it will only NOT start when the vehicle is hot then you probably have a failing starter solenoid and need a new starter, heat-soak affects the starter. If it will randomly not start even while cold then first look to the battery with the above directions and also be sure to clean the terminals on the battery as well as the other end of the cables, use a wire brush and make sure you have shiny metal, use an anti-oxidation grease on the electrical connections like ilsco de-ox. Any home depot/Lowe's or ANY electrical supply house will have de-ox.

Does it "click" when it fails to start? Or do you have absolutely NO SOUND when you turn the key. How do you eventually get it to start, just keep trying multiple times? Also is this an automatic or a manual transmission?

Do you have any issues with high RPM?
