Replacing belts soon. Idler pulley delete?

After replacing my alternator not too long ago, it seems like one of the pulleys is making some noise. The pulley was definitely put back on the right way. I'm replacing my belts soon and was wondering if it would make sense to just get rid of the pointless idler pulley while the cars on jack stands. Anything wrong with just buying the spacer for a few dollars and using gates belts? The kit from z1 is $64 with the ac compressor belt. Trying to save some money here but still use quality belts. From my understanding I need a belt 1" shorter after pulley delete. Any replies are appreciated!

Just buy a belt from 07+ G35 and buy the spacer for a few dollars. I did the mod a few years ago and haven't had any problems. I like Gates products, so I think you'd be fine.

You're sure an 07 coupe belt would work? I checked rockauto and the belts for the 06&07 have the same part numbers. Same on the gates website. The part numbers for the 08 models are different though.

I'm pretty sure I used a belt from an 07, unless it was a Sedan I don't remember. It could be 08+

07 coupe belts are the same as 05-06 coupes and sedans. You probably used a belt from an 07 sedan or 08 coupe or newer.

Make the spacer fo free- just cut that portion of the bracket off that the bolt goes thru and use that.
