Exhaust and 2jz swap

Okay, I'm exploring options for future project as to whether or not rebuild the VQ35 engine and go FI or to go with an engine swap. The engine swap I'm interested in is a 2jz-gte swap. My question pertaining to this is, I was planning on getting a MD exhaust and art pipes, if I was to do a 2jz swap down the road would the exhaust be a waste due to lack of compatibility? Thanks

Um, yeah. I6 vs V6 would be completely different exhaust setup. Good luck sourcing that engine!

You can always sell the system for about -$400 when and if you ever get the swap done.

Built VQ potential when built - ~1600hp
2j potential - ~2000hp (you'll never see the top of either engine)

VQ cost - about $10 on every street corner
2j cost - $10-20k

VQ - drops in..almost like it was built for it
2j - must customize everything

Now I'm not saying it's a stupid idea, but it's pretty stupid.

Way off the mark on the 2jzgte money. If using the stock infiniti 6mt it will save a load of $$. The v160 getrag supra 6mt is the big chunk.

Vvti 2jzgte and even non Vvti 2jzgte are practically bulletproof in stock form, and surprisingly affordable (JDM engine sets).

Stock block 2jz with a decent single turbo make in the 600s with just upgraded injectors.

However, if you are concerned about something as simple as exhaust compatibility, then a swap is not in your range.

If you're going to do a non-Nissan engine swap, go with an LS.

This is pretty much the best option. Cheap, virtually limitless power options (turbo V8??) And modern. Only thing that sucks is you'll have this sexy G35 and sound like a Camaro.

It's not bad, it's confusing. It's like putting a piece of rare steak in your mouth only to taste strawberry/chocolate ice cream. Steak and ice cream are both good, but not necessarily when you think one is the other.

But, I'm a purist.
