Engine ticking
Engine ticking
my G (120k 5AT) has been ticking for around some time. The noise sounds the loudest on the passenger side under the car, you can hear it from inside the car when you’re parked next to a car or next to building wall, sound is like a light pencil tick. It increases with the rpms. I’ve tightened the spark plugs, Change the fuel damper, change oil etc. still nothing. I’ve heard it could be a leak from the exhaust manifold (passenger side) that’s causing the noise. I hope it’s not lifters. Has anyone dealt with this or experienced this?

If you suspect it's an exhaust leak call around for shops that will "smoke test" the exhaust system. Basically they use a smoke machine and blow smoke back up the exhaust pipe and the smoke will come out of any leaking components. It's the only method I suggest because just LISTENING will only help find large obvious leaks and not the little ones.
However, with 120k on the clock you likely have some lifter wear, if oil change intervals weren't followed closely during those miles (meaning you should have performed 40 conventional oil changes or 17-24 full synthetic oil changes) then it could be from EXCESSIVE wear.
A mechanics stethoscope will help determine if it is the lifter, probe around in the area and see if it gets louder.

You should actually PULL the spark plugs out and visually inspect each one, retorque to 20 ft/lbs. Also check oil level just to rule out the obvious. I have a feeling though that it's lifter noise and will require the valve covers to come off to actually measure the gap on the lifter buckets.
