my wife drives a G35x. She puts very few miles on the car. We can go way beyond 3 months without exceeding 5000 miles. Is there a date that the oil would be bad?

 

 

I use Penzoil Platinum. Change it every 7500 miles. Between the summer heat and insane stop and go traffic here I'd rather be safe than sorry. If I was running dino oil, probably every 3500-4000 miles.

 

Most oil related topics are hotly debated, some folks say change it every 6 months that, personally I change it yearly.

Obviously if you hit the mileage interval before that then you change it. I go 3000-3500 on conventional oil.

I change usually every 6months or 3500miles (whichever comes first) on regular oil. I could go longer probably with synthetic or better type of oil.

 

When to change oil is very much a matter of opinion! We have members here that insist they change oil every 10K miles while others change it every six months regardless of mileage. I change synthetic when it gets dirty which is about 6 months and close to 3K + or - miles! Clean oil to me is good insurance SLICK will keep purring long past the time I get the urge to sell her to someone else!
