The 03/04 260hp G sedan makes within 5whp/wtq as the 03/04 coupe. Which leads many of us to believe the Z/G coupe/G sedan are all using the same motor. The sedans make a little less power due to a slightly more restrictive intake/exhaust and spinning a 1' longer driveshaft. Tranny to tranny, the numbers are much closer than the "rated" numbers would suggest. The 03/04 sedans are putting down closer to 270-275hp, not 260hp. The 05 sedans probably have a retuned ECU, but I'd venture to say that's only good for 5-10hp over the 03/04. Somehow the 05 sedans gained 60-70lbs in the update too which doesn't make much sense.
As for the 05 298hp-300hp 6 speed Z/Gs, well that's a largely changed motor. Different cams, updated valvetrain, different block, rods, and timing changes.

Go to the my350z link posted above to find out more. You can definitely see the design change as the new lower plenum has more open area before the runners.

I've been following the 350Z post and it seems interesting to say the least. A guy did a baseline yesterday and will be redynoing Wednesd/Thursday with the new plenum. I'm curious to see the differences. If it works (~8-10whp), I'd be more inclined to get this first instead of the spacer. It's hard to tell if the shorter runners will affect low rpm power or not because these intake manifolds behave so much differently than your typical fixed and variable plane intake manifold.

You can pre-order at G34 Everything for 199.99. Performancenissanparts might beat that price. The part is being researched now to see if there is any gains. Hopefully there is and I want to see if the spacer will work with this product.
Just wait and see....

Like what was stated earlier , There are alot of parts that make the 05 have more power . But IMO the new lower plenum is one of the reasons it has less trq. From what I understand ...longer runners...more trq. ....shorter runners....less trq .
The runners were probably shortened to help with the air flow to the front cylinders
