JDM vs US 2006 RWD transmission vq35

Is there any difference in the JDM tranny and or the TCM vs the US tranny and TCM? Will the TCM need to be reprogramed to match the US spec PCM?

Usually not if it's from a compatible model. Be aware that the JDM was available with a CVT transmission as well so make sure it's a RE50R5A you're getting.

That transmission used a different harness from 2003-2004.5 so you will need a 2004.5-2006 version. It will have the single large plug on the transmission not the three separate green harnesses.

AWD will not have the tailshaft housing so try to get one from a RWD or you'll need to swap over your existing one.

Usually you can call the importers and they will have a compatability verification tool.

Great info i have a 2005 couple atx with autostick.. the tranny i am looking at is a 2006 ATX not sure if its a CVT or not or if it is an autostick either will ask those questions later. Does anyone have a picture of the ATX out of the car on the ground so i can see the harness? This way i can compare that to the new tranny
