Engine stand suggestion

Wondering if anybody has a recommendation on what engine stand to get? Going to be rebuilding a VQ35DE from an '03 G35X Sedan. I know that engine stands are universal for the most part, but have also read that certain engines and engine sizes have issues with certain stands just from designs. I was considering either the 1000lb or 2000lb models by Pittsburg Automotive. Has anybody used either of these for their VQ and did it align properly? (I know the VQ's are generally light engines but I'd rather go a little overkill on weight rating to be safe and be able to use it on a heavier engine in the future if need be)

Just get the 1000 lb one unless you plan on working on diesel engines or big block V8. Even an iron block/heads SBC is only like 500 lbs. I think the VQ is about 350 lbs fully assembled. Just guessing based on how it feels pulling one out.

Personally I like the smaller stands because the legs of the 2000 lb ones seem like they're always in your way.

As for bolting up the engine to the stand, that's basically a non issue they are 100% adjustable, the only issue you may run into is needing different sized bolts. I just use allthread usually (smaller than the fastener, typically 3/8 rod works) and go through the bolt holes rather than trying to thread into bolt holes. Seems like they never want to line up properly. Sometimes I get lucky with them though.
