05 G35X Engine/Transmission Swap Help

I have an 05 G35X, engine blew week before last.
It's currently at the shop getting another engine and transmission put in I didn't only change the block because when I bought it I didn't realize the car was missing the front driveshaft, so I essentially was driving a rwd G for a while. Im guessing when the front driveshaft blew up whoever had the car was going fast and it made a hole right where the bellhousing meets the engine and the engine also had a chunk of metal missing, didn't leak oil and drove fine so I ran with it. I bought a used motor and trans afterwards off an 06 G35X only problem is the mechanic isn't able to figure out exactly whats going on, the car turns on great and idles good but the transmission won't engage, only seems like its working in neutral. It does now have a new front driveshaft as well as front cv axles, anyone have any ideas in what it could be or ran into this issue, really want to try and figure it out before I rule out a bad transmission and go find another used one. Can't get confirmation from place I got drivetrain from wether or not it was driving, for sure was running as engine runs good. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Editing this because we figured it out incase anyone runs into the same thing. You have to use the tcm thats originally on the car, on my 05 it's located above the valve body. We just replaced the valve body itself and all gears worked and everything functions normally. Another issue we ran into was the car only starting in nuetral, it ended up being the shift linkage needed to be adjusted. Hope this helps someone dealing with the same thing.
