Installed motordyne spacer + drop in, but..

Something strange happened. The install took me a couple hours. I had some initial trouble lining up the plenum with the gasket, but when everything was all said and done, I went to go start it up and I noticed both my windows were completely down, and I am 100% sure I did not put them down. I remember gettin out of the car and using the window to shut the door on accident (I hate when ppl do that). I didnt disconnect my battery and I have no idea what caused this, anyone have any ideas?

On the other hand, I went from a stillen + ztube, to a K&N drop in + ztube + the spacer, and while I did notice a bit more acceleration off the line till about 3rd gear, Sound wise I noticed the whistle from the stillen is gone, as far as the noise from the spacer, I coudlnt really tell. My stock exhaust sounded a tad louder but that might be becuase its not drowned out by the intake. Also, I didnt notice anything on the highway and I bought the car up to about 110 mph. (I never do this, just had to test out the mods). Either way I'm very happy becuase I wanted low end power as I dont like to drive fast on the highway so count me as another satisfied customer.

I imagine you had your key & remote in your pocket while you were doing the install. You probably leaned over the engine bay and unknowingly depressed/held the unlock button on your remote in your pocket..........this will roll down your windows.

Hmm, that's pretty weird. Maybe you were leaning on your key fob unlock button, and rolled them down? I dunno.

So sounds like another thumbs up for the spacer. What size did you get? (just out of curiosity)

meant to put that in my sig, a 3/8 spacer. and I didnt actually have my key in my pocket, i put it down in my tool kit. Unless I placed a wrench down onto the unlock button, which is very unlikely. Hmm

Took a test ride with someone in their AT sedan last night. He had the 3/8" spacer. Did a couple of WOT runs. To be honest I did not feel the "neck snapping" power so many people have been claiming in their posts. I think that term is being used just a little bit loosely. Neck snapping power is more resevered for something like the addition of FI. Based off that experience, if someone gave me two WOT runs, one with spacer and one without, and didn't tell me, I don't think I'd be able to discern between the two. Anyways, not to discredit the spacer or anything like that, but I think a normal person would be hard pressed to feel an actual 5-10 whp increase. Not to say that the gains aren't there. Just that I think some peoples descriptions are based off more of their high hopes than anything else. Once again, not questioning the spacer or its dyno gains.

I wouldn't say neck snapping on accounts of the spacer - No, neck snapping would be 0-60 in under 5 seconds, which would be hard to obtain even on a VQ35 motor. I believe I would be able to tell the difference on a spacer vs no spacer G35 if I were to drive them back to back. The growl is different, the added throttle response is probably the most obvious, while the extra 'kick' at WOT might not be as noticeable to most people. I think the improved throttle response is what gives me the feeling the spacer yielded more power than the modest 5-7hp estimate suggested by Hydrazine.

Umm, I think you are the only one I've ever seen use the phrase "neck-snapping" in any plenum spacer thread so I'm not really sure what you are even talking about

Okay, I stand corrected. I remember reading a plenum spacer thread earlier, saw the term or something similar to "neck snapping" or "pulled way harder" and for some reason applied that as the popular consensus. Why I thought that automatically I have no idea but it surely isn't right since I did not do the research before posting. It doesn't happen often but it sure did this time and for that I apologize.
