I did not have to bend the heat shield at all. I don't know if it is due to the way the JIC Y-Pipe connects to the cats, or if it is due to the Crawford Headers, but I have no rattles what so ever. When installing the Crawford cats I did a straight swap for the RT Cats (which had no rattles either) and they were a straight swap for the stock cats.

wow.. that's weird.. when I accelerate, there's a very slight rattle at the low RPM range. Then from the mid to high RPM range, there's the rasp sound...
I only install Gruppe-s Y-pipe and still got the stock exhaust. No aftermarket headers either.
Doug told me that the heat shield on the G is placed a bit differently compare to the Z. So, the heat shield for the G has to be bent.

Anyone have news on the Helix cats? I heard that they are coming out with a revised version to fix the rattle problem? How do the helix cats compare to the crawford?

And no one has commented on Kinetix cats. They are probably the cheapest cats out there. Are these just as good as the big brands?

Actually, I might be able to solve your problems.

You said you were originally looking for an exhaust. I have a Borla Dual exhaust that's only be used for about 3 months before I sold my G.

I was planning on putting it on my FX, but it would require some modificaiton to do so, which I'm not quite sure if I want to do yet.

If you want them, let me konw. I would be happy to have you take them off my hands.

K&N Typhoon/Grounding Kit
Borla Headers/Cat Back Exhaust
Kinetix Plenum/Cats
Nismo Front Bumper/Side Skirts
Impul Rear Bumper/Spoiler

Hey Vic... Update on my "no rattle" statement. Today while working on a buddies car we opened my hood to make some visual comparisons. We then started my car up with the door open and I had my head close to the ground. I reved the car up to about 3K rpms and actually heard a slight "rattling" when the car was not under any load. It sounded like I have the same issue that you have, but on a smaller scale I'd assume. Next time my car's on a lift I'm going to go fishing for this rattle, but it doesn't really bother me because I rarely ever sit with my car in Neutral and rev the engine.

Just wanted to update you as to my findings.
