Nismo Ground Wires
Of course it's true. Electrons can definitely have a major affect on horsepower. The problem lies in the vehicles ability to emit hydroflorocarbons (HFC’s) through the intake ports on the headers. Incase you don’t know, the stock headers are very restrictive by nature. When the HFC's are introduced into a poorly grounded engine, the stock grounding wires send bad signals to the oxygen sensors, thus timing is retarded, and the engine is ELECTRICALLY drained of the horsepower it should be making. When timing is retarded your engine is running way too lean and it could crack a piston ring!
(I think this was ultimately Kevin Piersons problem with his G35).
By adding grounding wires the electrons ~~~flow~~~ more freely, allowing the oxygen sensors on the headers to ELECTRICALLY distinguish between the desired air fuel ratios and the HFC's. Once this major task is achieved the vehicle can make the REAL 8-10 rear wheel horsepower that it was designed to make.
Hope that makes sense. Bottom line, grounding wires will not only give you 8-10 rwhp, but they may help to keep your engine from premature detonation.

8 - 10 ??? Dynos show 2 - 4 (and 4 is pushing it).
It will help in sensor accuracy, a little smoothness, and if you have an AT and get the right kit - shifting.
I would strongly recommend you send a Private message to GordGee on this board and ask about his 'Grounding Gear' line. Get the best you can (8 wire for 6MT, 10 Wire for 5AT) the setup is far better than Stillen, Nismo, etc, and cost is close.

Not sure about the Power increase, but i can vouch for the advantages to a 5AT G35. It will definately give you a smoother shift in manual mode, and even in regular drive mode, the notchiness of each gear change is history.

The only thing those stupid @$$ grounding wires did for my car was make my radio sound louder, but that was only because I used the volume adjuster on the steering wheel.
Save your money for something else.
drop in filter, ztube, plenum spacer or after market plenum.
With these products, at you'll feel the money that you spent.
dont buy it for HP/TQ (performance) cause you'll be disapointed.
buy it for cleaning up the power lines to every electronic component in your car. for auto G's I did notice a substantial improvement on shifting. regarding lower / better idle among other claims I still need to attach the ECU and TCU wires & reset the computers. however i expect it to be as reported by the multitude of others... slightly lower idle, engine runs smoother, etc.
still need to do a Gtech run to compare pre-grounding vs post-grounding kit. will be interesting !

Have to remove that thing.
I think what Potty Pants says is right.
Don't buy it for the HP increase, buy it for the satisfaction of knowing that it makes your engin and car run more smoothly. It's like using synthetic as opposed to natural oil, don't use it becuase you're going to gain that 0.5 to 1 HP, use it becuase it's good for your engine and car.

When you buy a spacer mod and proclaim it's usefulness over other proven mods to the rest of the world - even as results are sill coming in and then trash one you've never even tried, you pretty much add no value to the discussion. You fall into the category of do what I did becasue I must be right people. Stop guessing about what you don't know and stop assuming that just because you like it that it has any value whatsoever.

Read between the lines Jack.
Do you think any of the gibberish that you post has any value? You post nothing but wordy BS. You have no point or any conclusion in your posts.
You have Neffster's arrogance but unlike Neffster, you have nothing in that fragile peanut shell of yours. At least Neffster fronts like he knows what he's talking about.
Anyway...
The original author of this thread stated that his friend claimed 8-10hp with grounding wires and also asked if any of US installed this bullsh*t product on our cars.
I answered the man with my experiences w/ grounding wires. Unlike you, I don't make sh*t up because I'm bored at work. He asked a question, I gave him answer from my own personal experience.
If you got gains from the grounding wires, good for you. Or maybe you finally remembered to release the e-brake when driving. Did the wires help your tranny shift smoother because a third pedal would just confuse you?

You saw my post yesterday, did you stay up all night trying to think(I will use this term lightly) of something to start some sh*t with me?
F*ckin loser.
WtF! Why are all these 5AT pansies tryin' to start **** with me?
IDIOTS!

What basis does he have? The original poster asked for people's opinions. That's his basis. He's telling the guy not to spend money if he's expecting 8-10 hp gains. Mind you every G is different but still, 8-10 is far fetched.
Lay off the crack...
Stop hatin...
And stop being pretentious...
You're only foolin yourself...
