Disappointing Mods

I'd like to know if anyone was truly disappointed with a mod they installed.

- What was it and why were you disappointed?
- Did you contact the manufacturer and what was their response?
- What was the final outcome?

Grounding wires because they didn't do dick for my car.

- Did you contact the manufacturer and what was their response?
No because it's not worth my time to argue with the baboons who invented and sell this product.

- What was the final outcome?
I have blue grounding wires in my engine bay.

Stillen CAI because it's blows rather than sucks. My car didn't sound anymore aggressive than the stock box. And I lost tremendous amounts of low end with that POS product.

F*ck Stillen, I ain't staying on hold and losing 30mins of my life with those bastards. Story has it that Stillen's warranty isn't even worth the paper that it's written on.

- What was the final outcome?
Sold it to my fiance's friend that doesn't know any better. She's a frumpy thing so I really don't give a rats ***. Can't feel to bad for her, she has a 05 6mt. But lucky for me she just happens to "love the power!".

UT Chrome Tube. The interior of the tube was flaking off and being sucked into my engine.

- Did you contact the manufacturer and what was their response?
-Yes, first they said it was supposed to happen and it's normal. I guess they thought was was f'in retarded or something....
-I asked for a new tube or my money back...and they couldn't provide me with either.

- What was the final outcome?
I'm going with HKS Suction Kit....

Dizz...

I am curious on the grounding wires.. which make/model did you get ? I am assuming you have a 6MT(where difference would be subtle at best - not sure what yuou expected)

Also curious on the Stillen CAI, it is loud as hell, and absolutely more aggresive sounding - on the low end power loss - I am actually going to test that, as I have been wondering also. I don't think i really got the breathing effect of it till exhust was installed.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but would love to have more info.

I also have to go with the grounding wires from Stillen. I didn't expect any power gains of course but I also didn't expect my will stall occasionally after this mod.

Nope. I live in Germany and there would be too much fuss to do anything with it.

- What was the final outcome?
The outcome will be this weekend - I will rip it out of the engine bay

As far as Stillen CAI is concerned I agree with Sickone. It's loud, gives a nice rumble at high rpm and it actually added a few ponies but I cannot stand the annoying whistle at mid-throttle so I will get rid of it also.

I have no clue where the grounding wires came from. A friend bought his and asked if I want to give it a go. I think the name began with max something... I dunno.
I didn't know what to expect. Did it smooth out idle? I dunno, my car is/was pretty smooth to begin with.

The cai was only loud after 3k rpm. Trust me, I was really disappointed with the CAI because it's supposed to be kickass, I mean Stillen right? But having this garbage installed on my car and dealing with how crappy the customer service is, Stillen is crap.

They might have reigned during the 300zx era but I think they need to play catch up with their competitors when it comes to our cars.

The only thing I can't knock is their exhaust because independent dynos showed significant gains.
But I think it still sounds like crap.
