Thumbs up KPTechnologies Shift Light

the kptech shift light is here.

i have had for a while now and am just gettin to writing about it. the shift light is great.

it is user programable, so it can be set to whatever value you want. to set it you rev the car to half of the value that you want it to come on at. so if you want it to come on at 6k you rev to 3k. programing this way allows you not to have to rev the car so high which could be dangerous. i recommend you set it while you are driving because it is much easier to hold the rpm while driving instead of being parked and reving it.

3 of the 4 wires connect to the same wires as the vdc making installation very easy. the 4th wire can be connected to the crank shaft position sensor, which is where i connected mine. there are other one that will work that kevin and elaborate one cause i dont know which ones they are.

the led is very small 3mm, but is incredibly bright. during the day with my windows down i can still see it even if im not looking at it. at night it lights up the entire car. i have not mounted mine yet so i dont know where im goin to put it yet. i will probably mount it in the a piller just got to figure out how to drill it and not mess up the felt on the outside. the led is small enough though that you can mount it anywhere and it wont be very visable.

i do not have any pics right now of it but i will try to get some. i know that kevin has some so maybe he can post them. overall this is another great product from kptech. install is very simple and takes bout 30 mins. they will soon be released to all of you guys, so the wait is almost over. please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and i will try to answer them the best i can.

now back to waiting for my kptech sunroof mod.

Sorry, I was just waiting for pictures, or better yet, night time video! I assume this mod is for 03-04 since the 05s come with a shift light on the dash stock? What's the sunroof mod?

this pic was taken during day light, and with a flash. I can not stress enough how super bright the LED is.

They are standard 3mm LEDs. They are a hair smaller then the factory LED. I believe the factory LED is a custom 4mm LED because its bigger then a 3mm but smaller then a 5mm. Since the LED is so small it can fit almost anywhere.

If it is the same one you had in the van, Kevin, this thing is FREAKING BRIGHT!

I really like the stealth factor; you could potentially mount the LED anywhere yet still see it when needed. Cool Mod!
