this post is really useless, each mod will void the warranty on that particular part. If you get suspension upgrades and your struts go out, most likely they won't replace your struts for free....or probably anytime for that matter.

I got a SAFC for my old GTS celica and removed it when I heard ticking from my engine. Took it to the dealer and they could tell that I tampered with the ECU so they voided my warranty. Therefore, I will never tamper with a cars ECU again but everything else can be tampered with and be reinstalled the original way.

+1, i've seen those incidents...dont underestimate then. they know what you have done
i've got a question tho.
if you are concerning about warranty, why did you modify it?

I am mainly concerned with the warranty on the drivetrain - engine and transmission. I do realize that if you change a part to an aftermarket part, say, cat-back exhaust, you obviously lose the warranty on that particular part.

But I have been told that changing the headers will void the warranty on the entire drivetrain. Which is why I made this thread to begin with.

Changing an exhaust system will not affect the rest of the powertrain warranty. The onus is on the dealer to show that the modification caused the failure or that the failure was due to abuse. On the Corvette forums where I used to spend most of my time you will see the C5 owners constantly battling with their dealers after mods but the only thing that seems to be a deal breaker is internal mods likes cams or ECU/fuel management(for warranty claims inside the engine). Even then, the success getting warranty cover seemed to vary a bit from one dealer to the next, and the specific type of failure. When I sold my Dodge Stealth the car had exhaust, CAI, upgraded intercoolers and a boost controller and the dealer inspected the car and still sold my buyer an extension on the factory warranty. I would be more concerned that changing the exhaust won't increase your power A better mod might be a gear swap which voids only your cruise control.
