Grounding Kit for 6MT

Can anybody clarify if the grounding kit has any effect on the 6MT? I have found that the Auto owner are benefiting from the mod, but really nothing on the 6MT.

Re: Grounding Kit for 6MT

IMO, optimizing engine grounding will benefit both 6 M/T and A/T equipped cars. Check out the Gordgee's thread in this forum for some feedback.
Besides better shifting in my A/T, the most noticeable change I had was in engine smoothness at idle, and engine starting. It made an already good engine even better.
According to charts I've seen, there is a slight hp gain, albeit minimal. I'm also suspecting a 'slight' increase in gas mileage,
tho that would be hard to prove......... I say put it on, you'll like it.

I noticed that most of the discussion was for the Sedan. Are the wire lengths the same for the Coupe? And is the 7th wire necessary for the 6MT?

Hey bro, Try the search function at the top of the page. There's a ton of info in there. Also go into Gordgee's thread on "Hyper-Ground Kit" at the top of this page for a ton more.
It is a good mod, at a good price. G/L

I plan to make my own kit in the near future. I'll update the post to see if this really works.

Re: Grounding Kit for 6MT

Im sold on the idea of instalig a kit. I couldnt find anything on wire lengths or gronding locations though. So much i want to do to this car but i have too many toys at one time. This sounds like a good start though. Does it also affect the delay when you shift the auto in manual mode

The instructions are the same as the Auto. So the Post Gordgee started in the Technical Board about the Hyper Grouding Kits should help. Here is the pic Gordgee posted.

Re: Grounding Kit for 6MT

I'm so glad someone started a new thread. I'm using a 6 wire kit on a 6 speed. I frist started with only two wires (wires 4 and 5 on Merlin's post). I had the parts to make the two laying around. I noticed a big difference with only the frist two, but the diffence was not as great when I added the last 4. So I left the 7 th wire out. The lenth I cut the wires (before crimping the connectors) was 15", 17", 26",28", 30", and 28" for the 6 th wire. I went with shorter wires so the wires look more "snug". Basically, Cut first, then crimp one end, then measure for fit inside engine bay, trim uncrimped end, crimp that end, and install. I found that a hammer works best for crimping.

Re: Grounding Kit for 6MT

Hey all,

I ordered the black "stealth" set of 6 wires from insaneamine. I'll try to post when they're in.

Am I the only one who isn't into bright happy colors under the hood??
