2Fast and 2Furious

Hi all,

Wondering what you think of this photo I doctored up and if any of you would go with vinyl stickers made up like this? No where on the web did I see any Infiniti logo decals or stickers. I think Infiniti keeps the logo under wraps pretty well.

There's a guy in my town called Sticker Dude who does all custom vinyl decals that last up to 5 years! I emailed him for info about them. I'll let you all know what his remarks are but for now, any feedback on this is appreciated. Is it too ricey? I like the cars in TFATF #1 and I was wondering what public opinion would be if something liek this drove up next to you.

If Infiniti offered me a free G35 or perhaps an FX45 to drive around to advertise their company I would do it, but why advertise for a company that will get you nothing.

Please don't do it. The G35 is a classy car, putting graphics on it like that makes it look more like a Honda Civic. Can we say ricer!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T DO IT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2Fast and 2Furious

Well... a few thoughts:

1. I agree with the opinions expressed above.
2. If you have your heart set on F&F looks in spite of their opinions, what you've doctored up is not bad. Fairly restrained. I'd probably look for a design other than flames. Something more "Infiniti" like.
3. Make sure they're not permanent.

To be honest, I kind of like goofy things like this, but I'd only put them on a car dedicated solely to the track or shows. On a daily driver, this stuff looks pretty damn silly. It'd be nice if you could put these on like temporary tattoos, but the one "static cling" type decal I tried required removing all the wax, and then felt like it was pulling pretty hard on the paint when it came off. They're not going on my G.

My advice: satisfy this urge the way I plan to, on a cheap-*** used car I'll be modding up for the track. If you really only want to represent Infiniti, my guess is you could afford adding an old G20 to your garage. They've got a fair amount of performance mods out there, possible it could even reach stock G35 levels. But don't do that to your actual G35.

Re: 2Fast and 2Furious

I've never been a fan of graphics. Coming from the import scene with a "show car" I kept the stickers to a bare minimum, the only ones I put on were the sponsor names on the windows only.

The movie is way far pitched in the graphics area, I don't know who they used to design the cars, but they are butt ugly.

if that drove up next to me, I would try very hard not to laugh. I'm not one to put anyone down or stare and laugh at a light, but sorry it's hard to keep it in sometimes.

A yellow celica graphiced out with an adjustable spoiler rolled up between me and a C5. He was revving so I had to laugh, I think the more I laughed the more he was revving. I wanted to see the c5 take him, but we both just watched the guy take off by himself.

My understanding is that those were actual cars from the Cali street racing scene. Not the one they had explode, obviously. But the actual owners were driving their actual cars in the scene where the police come in and break-up the 4-car drag race. (Why don't dragstrips have 4 lanes? I'd pay extra to get in.)

Doesn't make them tasteful, but they weren't fiction either.

Re: 2Fast and 2Furious

ya they are actual owned cars even the green eclipse from the first one, but they aren't a good example of the import scene.

LOL that would be cool if dragstrips were 4 lanes though. It would make a day at the track more fun then watching 2 at a time go
