Information on HP Gains and Prices
My future mods for my G35 (AT Coupe) are Borla headers, remove resonaters pipes, and Im not sure but either a Injen CIA or a OEM Z tube with a K & N drop in filter, and Crawford Pelnum. My question is living in New York which way for air induction is better if i want both hp gain and noise gain? THe CIA or the K&N
ALso im wondering about ECU upgrades im not familiar with japanese after market products. My brother has a CLK 55 and he recently took it to a shop and had the Computer upgraded. He told me it made a noticable improvement. IS it possible to do the same to the G35.
Also how much would it cost for all these parts i plan on only spending around 3,000 to hook up my G (Sorry if i sound like an idiot but im new at this scene) thanks for the response

Im not sure what you mean by remove "resonaters pipes". I think you mean the stock cats. If you are going to put on any type of aftermarket headers it is in your best interest to go with a set of highflow cats or straight pipes.
For the ecu upgrades, do a search on this forum for "technosquare ecu reflash". there is a plethora of info out there. also check out technosquareinc.com
good luck with modding your car.

Yea i dont know what resonater pipes are, but my friend has an X5 and he wanted a deeper and louder exhaust note, but didnt want to go with the Full Hamann Exhaust so he called up the Shop that Hooks up his cars and they said they would remove the Resonater pipes and Weld the Hamann Exhaust tips to the stock Pipes. Ever since then his car is alot louder but not too annoyingly loud.
Just a word of advice that will save you money. Don't go with the Borla headers. I have read SEVERAL reviews that the gains are absolutely minimal. They definitely don't justify the cost it will take for installation.
If your gonna do headers, get a different brand.
Borla exhaust is nice though......

My vote is going to be for the Crawford headers. If you are going to go through the trouble of having headers put on, you are going to want to make sure you don't have to do it again! That's for sure.
Search for "dyno" threads on this site as well as on my350z.com and you will get the best feel for real world results from various mods. Be prepared for fairly modest results.

I have a shop that i can bring the car to, to be worked on. THey could order the crawford headers for me. How much do they cost and what can i expect sound wise and hp wise. what else can i do to make my car sound more "brolic" so to speak
the sound of the car is going to come from the air going in and the exhaust fumes going out.
intake, ztube, plenuem - in
headers, testpipes, exhaust - out
now you need to decide which ones of each to go with.

Lots of people say the headers will not give appreciable power gains without cams http://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124313 . A rear end gear swap will do more for the accelleration, and a catback will stil give you the noise upgrade you are craving.
