Once you pop the foot on the brake on green at 2200-2500, put the pedal to the floor but don't slam it! Go steady, increasing until you get to the floor. You'll know what's right once you practice this a few times at the stop light! Supply the car with constant power from the engine, that's the key! If you floor it right away, you can loose valuable torque too quickly. HP is good but you don't move without torque.

Chip is rite, dont drop the pedal... ud think that would make u go faster but the g's throtle has a sweet spot, hit that spot off the line and it will accelerate faster. Dont use manual either the car is to controlled by the comp, it likes it better it automatic

Re: 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile

I didn't care about the time it took to get to this speed, but this is what my coupe toped off at, I do believe it limits the top speed and not the rpms (who cares?) but it is limited to this speed, and it got there very quickly!!!, barely gave me time to grab the camera! LOL, people with manual six speeds claim higher top speed , I never rely on literature information varies from source to source. but for reals this looks like close to 145 MPH depending on speedometer error.

tbusguru, you should have bought a 6 speed. you would be seeing a good 10 more mph on the speedo... I've had mine read 152 before i realized how fast i was going, freaked out, and let off the gas...

Re: 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile

Awesome times...that is really encouraging to hear! I am finally picking up my G35 Sedan Auto tomorrow and the track will be something I hit as soon as there is 1500 or so miles on the odometer...I am hoping to best my wife's 02 Max with a 14.4 or lower. Again, great times.

It's the same thing with the Maximas...the autos are limited to 130-133 and the 6 spds can do upwards of 145+...so you are dead on accurate!

Re: 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile

I ran a 14.705 in my 6mt coupe. Thats nuttin 2 brag about, actually to think about its kinda crapy. But neways i know our coupes can run much faster then that. I had a bad reaction time, .873. And i also had to much of wheel spin and it was my first time at the track, not bad for a ameature i guess. For sure next time i go to the track i can run at least 14.4. Good news i beated a turbo charged Integra GSR and the new V6 Accords. . .I did race a 350z but i lost, sorry to let you guyz down. . . .

Re: 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile

I have a 03.5 6MT sedan. I fastest 0 to 60 time that I can get is with my stop watch at 7.4 seconds. The air temperature in phx, az at the time was 90 degrees. How much time (if any) can I shave off? This 7.4 really stinks. I can not seem to get any better. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile

Well, the tranny gears don't optimize 0-60 times because you need to shift into third. If your not a very good shifter those two upshifts can hurt your times. The biggest factor is how you launch the car. If the rpms are too low you will bog, too high and you will spin. You need to find the optimum launch rpm based on your technique and available traction.

Re: 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile

You can hit 60 in second, so you only have to worry about botching one shift. 60 mph in second is well into the redline, but still before the limiter kicks in. I've noticed that in my 6MT sedan, the limiter isn't all that accurate.
