What racetrack were you at? How did you measure your 0-60 times? Most auto sedans run in the mid 14's, but there are many factors such as, weather, elevation, traction, driver, weight etc. Post your full time slip and maybe we could analyze it better.

Re: 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile
I was at ATCO raceway in New Jersey. I have the slip but i cant get my scanner to work. I dont know how they get the 0 - 60 times, but i asked about that yesterday when i was there and they said that it was the 0 - 60 time (???). The weather was great, track was really nice, there was nothing in my car so it weighed normal weight. first time i did it, i power braked it and second time i didnt. but both times i used sports shift. .....

If you can't scan your slip, then type it in
Did you have the VDC off? A poor 60' time will hurt your et and can result in a 15 sec time slip. The mph will indicate if you have the power, so lets see it.
I' ve heard mixed results between Atco and Englishtown, but both are very good.

Re: 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile
The 330' time is the distance it takes to reach 330 feet not 60 mph. Some cars can hit 60 mph in less distance than others, so what your being told is not accurate.
Your 60' time of 2.42 is the problem. Either you are spinning too much or your not leaving very aggressively. You can have a 14 sec time slip very easily, here's what I suggest.
1. Keep the car cool, don't run the engine unless you need to move in the staging lanes.
2. Check tire pressure and lower in the rear, try 26psi and raise fronts to 40 psi.
3. A burnout is not really required with street tires, but slightly spinning them is good to get them clean. Do not go in the water box.
4. Stage the car shallow and use your left foot to hold the brake. With your right foot push the throttle and bring rpms to about 1800 and wait for the lights. After your lights have dropped, release the brake and slightly roll into the throttle at the same time. This will take practice and experimentation to achieve a good launch.
5. Keep the car straight foot to the floor and make sure you cross the traps before letting off.
Weather plays a major factor, obviously better times can be had in the fall/winter oppossed to scorching summer days. Give it another try and let us know how it works out.
Good Luck!

Dudes,
Temperature is a major factor here, along with the tire pressures.
Yngphllkyd, keep the VDC off as it will restrict the full potential of power going to the rears, especailly at launch. Brake torquing is key, I've even heard of dudes going up to 3000 RPM and then launching. That may stress out the drive shaft a bit much though. Practicing, I've gone to 2400 with no problem. Ease that gas good though to limit the burn out once you launch. Get to 3rd gear too as quick as you can. It has the highest torque values!

YngPhllyKd,
Make sure you have the VDC off. Some people actually pull the fuse and its one last thing to remember to do. The tire pressures are only for the track and should be returned to the recommended settings as soon as your done racing. You might want to try removing your spare tire and jack from the trunk, should save you about 50 lbs. Also, fuel is heavy 1 gallon is about 6 lbs, so don't run on a full tank.
I'm from Toronto and don't have any track times yet, but will have some soon. I've been to Englishtown and really enjoyed the facility and ambiance. Our local tracks are not quite like that, but are upgrading.

Re: 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile
Thanks for all of your help. I really appreciate all of this. I hope to get out to a track sometime in the near future and trying this out. When i line up, put my foot on the brake, and put my foot on the gas to about 2200 - 2500? then when it turns green, let go and foot to the ground? or should i let go or the brake and slam the gas at the same time?
